Kids Football Boot Selector for Artificial Grass & Cyprus Pitches

Almost all youth football in Cyprus is played on synthetic turf. This guide helps parents select the safest stud configuration (AG, MG, or TF) to protect knees and ankles from injury.

Recommended Soleplate: AG (Artificial Grass) or MG (Multi-Ground)

For standard 3G and 4G artificial turf pitches in Nicosia and across Cyprus, dedicated AG (Artificial Grass) soleplates with 20–28 short, rounded, hollow studs provide the highest safety. They allow the foot to pivot naturally during sharp turns without locking into the turf.

Safety Warning for Cyprus Turf: Avoid Firm Ground (FG) boots with long chevron blades. On Cyprus synthetic grass, long blades lock into rubber infill, multiplying rotational torque and knee ligament injury risk.

Frequently Asked Questions From Parents in Cyprus

Can my child wear FG boots on artificial grass in Cyprus?

We strongly advise against it. FG studs lock into rubber infill fibers and cannot rotate, placing excessive torque on knees and ankles.

What is the difference between AG and MG?

AG boots are built strictly for artificial grass with 20+ short hollow studs. MG boots are hybrid boots designed for both artificial grass and firm ground. Both are safe on Cyprus turf.

What boots should my child wear for school concrete courts?

Flat rubber gum soles labeled IC (Indoor Court) or IN. Moulded plastic studs cause slips on concrete and damage the soleplate.
